Farmers Walk Handles

How do you use farmers walk handles ? They are the epitome of “real world” exercises that mimic the way farmers carry two similarly weighted items – one in each hand – for balance. When you perform carrying movements, picking up and carrying a weighted item in each hand from point A to point B, that’s a farmer’s walk. These types of movements improve your grip, balance and strength in a single exercise.
Heavy carries using the farmers walk handles are also an excellent way to work the entire trunk and lower body as well as strengthening arms and grip. Performing heavy carries also increases stamina and work capacity. These are must-have tools for any home gym or strength training facility.
To use the farmers walk handles, load plates on each end as you would a barbell. In fact, the exercise is similar to carrying a barbell in each hand, but the handles help lower the center of gravity for the movement. Four (4) Olympic spring collars (2 on each handle) secure the weights in place as you walk. You can also use the farmers walk handles to perform shoulder strugs, which will help develop your trap muscles.
